Today has been exhausting, so allow me to vent a little...Between School and all the homework it entails, my hair clients, my computer work, Starting a new business project, kid's school, their homework, scouts, soccer, and hip hop classes, and of course just maintaining life: grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, cleaning, let's not even try to fit in trips to the gym, dating or social life of anykind(although I do kind of force those things in now and again!)....Not enough hours in the day. I'm feelin spread really thin these days!!

Kids are back in school...whew! And the craziness begins. Between the boy's school Schedule and the gym and my semi part time jobs and my school, and trying, I repeat, trying to fit in a social life, we're pretty maxed out. In a good way, kinda, I think, depending on the day! Life's good.

A year and Counting

Today marks one year since Justin and I called it quits. I have mixed emotions. But mostly I'm glad to be able to look back on this year, and say that we're honestly ok. We've seen so many miracles over the past year, I had to start keeping track in my journal. I want to remember every little miraculous blessing that has taken place in our lives. I want the proof so that, when my sons are struggling and wondering why, I can show them that the Lord has looked out for us through the loving hands of others. That we've been loved and looked after by such pricless friends and family. I pray everyday that the Lord will bless me with the oppurtunity in the future to pay it forward. To ease the burden of the next single mom in line. Thank you to all who love us, and pray for us, and selflessly give of themselves for our sake. There are simply not enough words to express the gratitude I feel for the Angels among us!!

Diamond Backs and Life House

Saturday night I took Hyrum and Brig to the Diamond Backs game. Lexi went with us. We had so much fun! Our seats were five rows up, right next to the dugout. The boys ate, and yelled, and ate, and laughed, and ate...I started worrying that they might be sick. After the game, Lifehouse preformed. It was the perfect ending to our fun. And it never hurts to score "cool mom" points!!

Bryte turned three! I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up! We had a small dinner at the park to celebrate. He loved his giant Birthday Cupcake so much, he sat right next to it, and anytime I moved it, he'd move with it! Once the song was sung, and candles were blown, I put the giant thing in the center of all the kids and let em run a muck!!

Potty Time!

Since Bryte is turning 3 on the 16th I figured I better get the poor kid potty trained. Oh, give me a break! I've moved 3 times in 6months! Not exactly helpful for stay at home potty training sessions! Anyhow, we've officially started! On day one we had zero accidents, so naturally going into day two I admit, I was a little cocky. Let's just say, I was humbled real fast! 5 Accidents on day two. So here we are on day 3 and the humble me is being a little more diligent!! So far, so good!
3rd Birthday, here we come!! And I must say, I do love those undie buns!!!

Anyway, when Hyrum and Brig each turned two, I fully understood why they call it terrible two's! They both were high maintenance two year olds to say the least! But, Bryte on the other hand, has been the funnest at two than he's ever been! This little guy is a little piece of heaven! He is so funny and sweet and mostly easy going. I wish I could freeze him at this age!!

With all the Christmas Kaos over with, we're finally settling back into some what of a normal routine. Tonight of course was family night. It was good. I found the cutest lesson online about being a Forever family and working as a team. Which is something we really need right now. It had the cutest football analogy, perfect for my three. It talked about how as we take certain steps, or yards, toward the goal, which is a forever family, we are happy. And if we do things that are wrong or hurtful or disobedient, we loose yards and feel sad, and don't have a strong team. In the end, if we reach our goal, we score a touch down, and get to be together forever. Anyway, they loved it, and it was easy for them to understand.
Afterward I had a Chocolate orange that Brig's had his eye on all day, so I split it into pieces and shared it with the boys. Brig said, " Hey we just shared. We were being a forever family weren't we?" I could have sang with joy, that he retained something from our lesson! Then he ran to the trash and spit out his chocolate orange and I said, " don't worry, Bryte didn't like it either.(it's dark chocolate)"
And he said, "are taste bugs are all messed up!" I love that kid!

It's that time again, and due to a large number of requests, I am now taking orders for pumkin rolls! A small pumkin roll will serve about 6-8 and is 6$ and a large roll will serve 12-16 and is 10$. Pumpkin rolls not only taste heavenly but they look beautiful too. They are excellent for parties and gatherings because they serve quite a few people. Let me just join Letterman on his soap box for a moment! It's long but worth reading!!

David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we
don't often see...

'? As most of you know I am not a President
Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not
about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it
seems to hit the mark
'The other day I was reading Newsweek
magazine and came across some Poll data I found
rather hard to believe. It must be true given
the source, right?
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67
percent of Americans are unhappy with the
direction the country is heade d and 69 percent of
the country is unhappy with the performance of
the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry
just ain't happy and want a change. So being the
knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What
are we so unhappy about?''

A.. Is it that we have electricity and
running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?

B.. Is our unhappiness the result of
having air conditioning in the summer and heating
in the winter?

C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of
these unhappy folks have a job?

D.. Maybe it is the ability to walk
into a grocery s tore at any time and see more
food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last
year?

E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our
cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the
Atlantic Ocean without having to present
identification papers as we move through each
st ate?

F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clea n
and safe motels we would find along the way that
can provide temporary shelter?

G.. I guess having thousands of
restaurants with varying cuisine from around the
world is just not good enough either.

H. Or could it be that when we wreck
our car, emergency workers show up and provide
services to help all and even send a helicopter
to take you to the hospital.

I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70
percent of Americans who own a home.

J. You may be upset with knowing that
in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of
trained firefighters will appear in moments and
use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames,
thus saving you, your family, and your
belongings.

K.. Or if, while at home watching one
of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or
prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun
and a bullet-proof vest will co me to defend you
and your family against attack or loss .

L.. This all in the backdrop of a
neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and
pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where
90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

M.. How about the complete religious,
social and political freedoms we enjoy that are
the envy of everyone in the world?

Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks
unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of
ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever
seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet
has a great disdain for its citizens. They see
us for what we are. The most blessed people in
the world who do nothing but complain about what
we don't have, and what we hate about the country
instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What abou t the
president who took us into war and has no plan to
get us out? The president who has a measly 31
percent approval rating? Is this the same
president who guided the nation in the dark days
after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to
bring an economy out of recession? Could this
be the same guy who has been called every name in
the book for succeeding in keeping all the
spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist
attacks? The commander in chief of an
all-volunteer army that is out there defending
you and me?

Did you hear how bad the President is
on the news or talk show? Did this news affect
you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't
take a look around for yourself and see all the
good things and be glad? Think about
it......are you upset at the President because he
actually caused you personal pain OR is it
because the 'Media' told you he was failing to
kiss your sorry ungrateful beh ind every day.
Make no mis take about it.

The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have
died for your freedom. There is currently no
draft in this country. They didn't have to go.
They are able to refuse to go and end up with
either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than
honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a
''dishonorable' ' discharge after a few days in
the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment
in the minds of 69 percent of Americans?

Say what you want but I blame it on the
media. If it bleeds it leads and they
specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a
car crash with blood and guts How many will
watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The
media knows this and media outlets are for-profi t
corporations. They offer what sells, and when
criticized, try to defend their actions by
'justifying' them in one way or another Just ask
why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J.
Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill
his wife, but if he did he would have done it
this way......Insane!

Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New
York Times for the bottom of your bird cage.
Then start being grateful for all we have as
country. There is exponentially more good than
bad. We are among the most blessed people on
Earth and should thank God several times a day,
or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With
hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud
slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up
the country from one end to another, and with the
threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we
sure this is a good time to take God out of the
Pledge of Allegiance?'

Book Club

Tonight we had book club. We met at a new place we've never been before. Joe's Farm Grill in Gilbert. It was a neat place with a yummy menu and inviting atmosphere! It defenitely would be a great place to take the kiddos! And the weather is getting nice out at night, so sitting on the lawn was a nice change. Can't wait for next month!

TV: An unecessary necessity!

Okay so I have to complain a little...or a lot. So we moved into our apartment a month ago, and I thought I'd save some money and bundle my cable, Internet, and phone. So I called a local cable company and they came out to do the install. Well two not working tv's later, I'm still without cable and now filing a damage claim for my tv's. Of course the cable company says, after an investigation ( my foot!), they are not responsible for the damage to the tv's and therefore cannot help me with the cable problem. So, I cancel my service and decide to go with a dish. Once again, I get an appointment set up, only to find out that my apartment complex requires and renter's insurance policy plus a 100 dollar security deposit in order for me to be authorized to have a dish on the property! Lovely! Looks like it'll be a while before we'll be enjoying any television. You try having three little boys crammed into a two bedroom apartment and blazing heat outside, with no tv! There, complaint submitted! My fit is over. Thanks for listening.

Remembering

I still remember the morning of September 11, 2001. Hyrum was 1 week old, and I was laying on the couch recovering from having just given birth. So, I was already in a particularly emotional state, what with being a new mom. It took me a couple of months to get over the sickness in my stomache and the heart ache I felt for this country, and more importantly for those who lost loved ones. Each year I think back and try very hard to remember the depth of emotions that I felt. And each year, I am a little saddened to realize that with the passing of time, the memory of such emotion, fades more and more. But I'll never forget. And I'll always have a certain reverence for those who gave their lives. And for this great Country in which we live and love.

Yesturday was Hyrum's Birthday. He turned a whopping 7 years old! I can't believe it! I feel old! I took him on a special date, just the two of us! Hyrum is a very passionate and determined guy. He is very intelligent. And he loves hip hop music, computers, video games, swiming and sports. He has a strong desire to do what is right and to take care of his mom. He is often the leader in a croud, and is a good one too! We love you Hyrum. We are so glad that you are part of this family!

12 weeks to a new me!

I started a new fitness and diet program on Monday. My Aunt and Uncle and Cousin are all doing it, and they've had major success! My Aunt showed me her before and after pics, and let me tell ya, she looked great before, but she is one hot mamma now! So that's my goal! Today is day 3 and so far I'm liking it. Every muscle in my body hurts from the workouts, but that is a good sign. So in 12 weeks we'll see how things measure up! Literally!!

This month for book club we read Stephanie Meyer's "The Host". It was really good. So different. Alot of people that I've talked to who've read it, said that it took them a while to get in to it, but, I really liked it from the beginning. It seems to have left off in a place where there could be a sequel and I'd defenitely read it if there was! I recommend this book to any looking for something new to read! At least it's somethin to pass the time until "Breaking Dawn" is released!!

Tomorrow June 17th is Brigster's Birthday! He is turning 5 I can't believe it! He is so excited to start kindergarten in the fall. He is defenitely the comedian of the family! He is also very sweet and tender hearted. Something that most people don't realize about Brig is that he is a big tough looking boy, and he can talk up a streak and give dirty looks like nobody's business, but he's actually kind of a marshmallow. I love it! And one of Brig's most indearing qualities is that he can tell the most detailed and animated stories I've ever heard! We call them Brigisms. We love this sweet boy dearly! Happy 5th Birthday Briggie!

I've been out of town at girl's camp and then in a recovery coma for several days, so this is really late, but I couldn't let my Best Friend's Birthday pass without it! Lindsey is one of the most fun, vivacious, compasionate, and dedicated people I know. We've shared ten years of friendship that are filled with a history of laughs and tears and memories that will be treasured for a life time! Today is an exciting day! Justin has finally started his new job as an enrollment counselor at GCU. This is a big day for us since he has practically been out of work for the last several months! He's so excited to get to go back to school. It's a little bitter sweet for me though. I've gotten so used to having him here with me all day to talk to and help out with the kids. Book Club

I'm in a book club with a couple of friends and we meet once a month over dinner to discuss the month's read. Last night we met at Tia Rosa's in Mesa. It's always so fun to see the girls and the food was so good! This month we read "Three Weeks with my Brother" by Nicholas and Micah Sparks. It is an excellent book! I highly recommend it. For the upcoming month, we are reading "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak. I can't wait to get it!

Brigisms

Okay so the latest "Brigism" is not actually something he said, but what he did. He has been begging us for a new bike ever since Hyrum learned to ride his without training wheels. So last night I was helping kids with homework and I hear Brig yelling for me to help him. So I come walking out to the back porch and he is stuck on Hyrum's bike! It's to tall for him, so he took their two skateboards and put them on either side of the bike so he could stand on them and hold up the bike. The problem was, he couldn't get down without having the skateboards slip out from under him! How he got in this position, I don't know, but it was so funny I could hardly take the picture!

Okay, so the grossest thing happened to me the other night! I hope you're not eating right now! So, I had just come home from young women's and was standing near the kitchen table and a window that looks out to the back yard. Just outside the window the AC unit kicked on and it sounded like there was a big rock or something in it. So I ran up stairs and told Justin that something was wrong with it. He came down and got a flashlight and we went out to see what the problem was. Well, (do you have a barf bag handy?) There was a big blob of stringy guts and hair dangling from the top of the grate over the fan! I screamed and probably woke up half of the neighbors! Then we got looking around to see of there was some sort of clue as to what this mangled thing was, and yes, right on the wall behind the Ac unit, there was the tail of a rat!! Yes the tail only! I screamed again and booked it into the house. The next morning, Justin went out to clean it up, and in the daylight, you could then see all the guts splattered all over the walls and the Ac thing. I'm tramatized!!

We have a little fire pit that the boys love! We don't use it very often, but Justin's Brother Joe and his wife Sara and their 4 year old son Straton came to visit and it was the perfect oppurtunity to roast hot dogs and mallows! We had such a good time, I think we'll do it again soon!

Last week we took a trip up to Justin's home town to visit my sick Grandfather, and to our pleasant surprise, it snowed! Hard! It was the first time the boys actually saw snow fall! They had a blast! They were a little mad that they had to ride home in their skivys though!

Now that the Hollidays are over and things are a little less crazy, I'm feeling antzy! I need to get out and do some thing. Play date anyone? Or maybe I need a new project. Not like there's not a million and one things that need done around the house! I am, however trying to put a family recipe book together. That will keep me somewhat busy, but, I'm finding it's hard to work on it, during the day when the kids are awake and needing my attention!

This book "Thanks for Thanksgiving", is a sweet little book that we read each year. There is a spot in the back of the book for the kids to record what they're thankful for. Here is some of the things they are thankful for this year:
Hyrum: Mommy and Daddy, Mrs. Bingham, video games, Jesus
Brig: Chicken nuggets, super heros, rain, computer games
Bryte: Sippies, DADDY, shoes, climbing, big brothers

New Church Building!!

My testimony of the power of fasting and prayer have been strengthened. This beautiful new church building has been finished and sitting right next door for months now and there has been obstacles with some of the finishing up of it that has kept us from being able to start attending there. Our leaders recently asked us as members, to fast and pray that the obstacles would be removed and that we could have use of that building. And now, a couple of weeks later, we are ready to go! We should be in very soon! One more Thing to add to the list of things we are gratefull for this Thankful time of year!!

Trouble with a capital 'T'

This is Bryte's new thing. He loves to sit in the cupboards and rearrange them. This morning he was drinking a sippy and when he was done, I could tell he was lookin around for his binki. All of a sudden he get's this look on his face like,"Oh yeah!" then he runs to the cupboard and opens it, and in the very back there are two binkis that he had stashed in there! He took them both out, stared at them for a minute, then put one in his mouth and the other back in and shut the cupboard and ran off. Little smarty pants!!

Most people who know me, know everything about me! I love to share how I feel and be with my girl friends so it is really hard to think of 7 things that people wouldn't already know! Here goes...
1)I secretly have thought for a while now, that it would be kinda fun to start some kind of girl band! Like a little mormon mommy rock session once a month or something! I know, weird huh?

2) I've become freakishly fancsinated with Ultimate Fighting or UFC! yes, the tapout sticker on our expedition was my idea.

3) Aside from the girl band and UFC, I'm such a girl that when I change into my PJ's at night, I straighten my hair and alot of times, I put it up, but, I have to put a bow in it!! I doubt that surprises anyone!

4) Because I like to cook so much, I've developed an obssesion with serving dishes. I have to stack them above the cabinets in my laundry room because I collected so many!

5) In my "about Me" section I mention that peanut butter M&M's are on of my favorite things. But I didn't mention that, I mix them with 'Cheez Its! It's so good!! You have to try it before you knock it! I must say, that I haven't indulged in a while! Have to watch my girlish figure you know!!

6) I hate most animals. When I was little we had all kinds of animals, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, pigeons, and more, and some of them, I really grew to love. But I think I loved them more because my dad loved them and I loved the time we spent with him taking care of them.

7) I hate ironing so much, that I don't even own an iron! In the seven years that we've been married, I've never had an iron! If something is wrinkled, we throw it in the dryer and if that doesn't do the trick, we wear something else! Good thing Justin doesn't have an office job!

There!! I did it! All though, I don't know how interesting it's been! Now everyone who reads this...Tag your it!

With the record breaking heat we've had this week, I rely heavily on my favorite fall scented candles to make me feel like it's actually fall and the beginnig of the holliday season! My favorite scents are "Mulled Cidar", "Cobbler on the Porch", and "Holliday Wreath", and "Christmas Presence" for December!! Yum!! Although it puts me in the mood to bake, and that can be dangerous! Well, who am I kidding, I always love to cook candle or no candle!!

Halloween Hallabaloo!!

Our Halloween turned out to be more than we bargained for! We stepped outside to take pictures and start off on our trick-or-treating excursion, and locked ourselves out of our house!! So after a while of trying all windows and even barrowing our neighbor and his lock picking set and trying to play spy, I took off with the kids to get in a little Trick or Treating before everyone shut down for the night. Then, at 4am Brig hurled!! Needless to say, he did not head straight for the stash this morning! And now, I have all the candy that we did not pass out to trick or treaters because it was locked in the house all night! Oh, well the kids had a blast and that's the goal!

Okay, so Brig and his little "friend" Tylie, go to preschool together. The other night I was playing softball with some women in the ward, and Joy (Tylie's ) mom, says, " yeah I guess Tylie spit on Brig at preschool yesturday." Well I hadn't heard anything about it, and as far as I knew the two of them were quite "fond" of eachother, so I was surprised. So, I asked Brig, "Did Tylie spit on you yesturday?", and he says, like a little adult, "yeah and then she broke up with me!" I laughed so hard tears were driping down my face. Then I said," Well what did you do about it?" He said, " I broke up with her back. I figured if she was going to break up with me, I'd just break up with her!!" So that's that, and my little four year old comedian goes about his bizz as I try not to pee my pants from the histeric laughter. I love being a Mom!

Hyrum got the student of the month award for September!! He got a good behavior sticker everyday this month! And he helped his class win free kids meals at chick-fil-a for bringing in the most box tops for education! We had saved up for months, and had like a hundred! Last night I went to the wedding of Heather Roth and Jeff Prince. After the cerimony, they let a bunch of doves fly over the audience. Just as they flew over head, I thought to myself, " what if one of them poops?" no sooner had I thought this, and Plop! Yep, you guessed it, bird crap right on my face! Just cenimeters from my mouth!! Thankfully my friend had a baby wipe in her bag! What are the odds!

As most of you know, I have a Brother serving a mission in the Philipines. He is scheduled to be released in August. He really wants my Parents to come to the Phillipines and pick him up and tour his mission. As you can imagine, that is a pretty costly trip. But it would mean so much to Barry(Elder Brown) to be able to show Mom and Dad where he had labored the past two years. So my siblings and I would like to pay for their plane tickets. This is how we plan to do this,

Starting today, we are taking orders for burpcloths(pictured), salsa and professionally decorated sugar cookies! Burpcloths are 5.00 ea. or 3 for 12.00 specify boy or girl.
